TITLE: K-4 Computer Science Instructor

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Baccalaureate Degree in Education
2. Missouri Teaching Certification Elementary
3. Credentials File
4. Regular Attendance

REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Building Principals

JOB GOAL: - The K-4 West Plains Elementary Computer Science Instructor will be an extension of the schools instructional and literacy program; Instruction will focus on the February 2019, newly adopted Missouri Computer Science Standards for Elementary. Lesson planning and course delivery will be supported by the Assistant Superintendent of Instruction and K-5 Instructional Coach.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Providing K-4 students with competent computer literacy instruction, training to become self-reliant users of information resources and technology including ethical use.
2. Collaborate in the design and delivery of curricular instruction.
3. Foster an atmosphere which encourages student and technology usage.
4. Provide professional support for classroom teachers content integration with the use of information resources and technologies.
5. Promotes the appropriate use of online resources.
6. Collaborating with classroom teachers in the preparation, presentation, and evaluation of units or assignments that utilize information technology resources;
7. Promoting the integrated use of technology as a learning tool.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Be able to move around the computer lab and lift up to 25 pounds to shoulder height.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Basic annual contract; compensation as per adopted salary schedule.

TYPE OF POSITION: Exempt

EVALUATION: Evaluated annually as set by administrative policy.
