The West Plains R-VII School District is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Assistant Middle School Principal for the 2026-2027 school year. West Plains Middle School houses approximately 650 students grades 5-8. West Plains Middle School has a rich tradition of excellence. Successful candidate will possess the ability to lead the building in the pursuit of excellence in education, service, and life while providing opportunities for students to achieve their maximum potential. Candidates should have a working knowledge of Professional Learning Communities, Missouri Learning Standards, and Response to Intervention. The successful candidate(s) will also be able to interpret and utilize data to support curriculum decisions and determine effectiveness of instruction. 

Qualifications:  

1. Minimum of at least two years of successful teaching experience.

2. Administrative or supervisory experience preferred.

3. Must hold a valid principal’s certificate (or ability to obtain) for level of position

4. Have a minimum of a Master’s degree (or the ability to obtain).

5. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be established by the Board of Education.  

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
