The West Plains R-VII School District is seeking highly qualified applicants for a Special Education Teacher to lead the S.W.A.T program at West Plains High School for the 2025-2026 school year.  S.W.A.T stands for Students Working at Transition. This program is for special education Juniors and Seniors at West Plains High School with a focus on developing independent living skills and work skills to benefit them after high school. The S.W.A.T program takes students to various school and employers to practice the work skills learned in class. 

  

Successful candidate(s) will possess the ability to actively engage students in the learning process and the ability to provide opportunities for students to achieve their maximum potential.  Candidates should have a working knowledge of the IEP process, Professional Learning Communities, Missouri Learning Standards, and Response to Intervention.  The successful candidate(s) will also be able to interpret and utilize data to support curriculum decisions and determine effectiveness of instruction.
